When to consult a professional for your child’s motor development?
It is always possible to consult a professional for prevention. Here are some signs that your child might benefit from a consultation:
- Nursing is difficult.
- Lifting his head during ‘tummy time’ after 3 months is difficult.
- He still holds his fists closed after 4 months.
- He does not tolerate the ventral position more than a few seconds at 4 months old.
- He does not bring his feet to his mouth at 6 months old.
- He does not roll at 7 months old.
- He does not sit at 8 months old.
- He is sitting with a rounded back at 8 months old.
- He does not crawl at 8 months old.

What is chiropractic for children?
Chiropractic treatments are adapted to the age and condition of the patient. It is a manual therapy that treats neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. The chiropractic adjustment of a newborn is done gently and safely, with techniques specifically adapted to babies / children, to treat it’s joint, muscle or nerve disorders.

Physiotherapy treatments emphasize the importance of having good joint mobility and muscle flexibility as well as symmetrical and fluid movements. To achieve optimal motor development, your child must experience a good variety of movements and it is the physiotherapist’s duty to help your child move well!
