Podiatry

Podiatry is a profession that treats any foot condition that is not a systemic disease. Podiatrists assess overall foot health from vascular, dermatological, neurological, and biomechanical perspectives. In addition to performing a postural analysis through a biomechanical examination, they offer a variety of mechanical, chemical, and pharmacological treatments. You do not need a doctor’s referral to see a podiatrist.

Using state-of-the-art tools such as X-rays, ultrasound, and pressure plates, it is possible to objectively assess and visualize what is actually happening in the muscles and joints when walking and standing.

Several treatment options are available: prescription medications, treatment for ingrown toenails and plantar warts, cortisone injections, taping, footwear advice, and exercise programs. Custom orthotics are also made following a 3D analysis of your foot at the clinic. Modifications to the orthotics can also be made.
