Podiatry is a profession that treats conditions affecting the foot that are not related to systemic diseases. A podiatrist evaluates overall foot health from a vascular, dermatological, neurological, and biomechanical perspective. In addition to performing a postural analysis as part of a biomechanical assessment, podiatrists offer a variety of mechanical, chemical, and pharmacological treatments. A medical prescription is not required to see a podiatrist.

Using advanced technologies such as radiology, ultrasound, and pressure plates, it is possible to objectively assess and visualize what is happening in the muscles and joints while walking and standing.

Several treatment options are available: medication prescriptions, treatment of ingrown toenails and plantar warts, cortisone injections, taping, footwear recommendations, and exercise programs. Custom orthotics can also be made following a 3D analysis of your foot at the clinic. Orthotic modifications are also available.
