Procrastination, something that everyone experiences every day. Whether it’s about household chores, calls to return, errands to run or sports and fitness.
The functioning of procrastination increases stress and anxiety. Thus makes appear more and more guilt and nourishes more and more perfectionism. This vicious cycle of dissatisfaction keeps us at relatively low self-esteem.
To get by, you have to get to work without expecting perfection. Take action in a small step even if it is badly done.
Don’t wait for the perfect time or for you to be motivated. Motivation will come as you go.
Start by hitting an easy-to-achieve goal at the start of your day. The simple fact of having accomplished something will give you more motivation to complete other goals.
It is very important to set goals that are “SMART”
S: specific – specific to each individual and specific details
M: measurable – able to measure your progression
A: attainable – a goal that is challenging but possible
R: realistic – a goal within your possible capabilities
T: time-based – have a time line for when to reach the goal.
For example, I would like to be able to do 1 set of 10 push ups on my knees, in 4 weeks.
Setting goals that are “SMART” increase the likelihood of reaching them, which increases motivation.
