Shoulder pain affects a large part of the population and it can limit our daily activities. Once established, shoulder pain can persist in the long term. According to some studies, about 50% of people with shoulder pain will have this pain for 1 to 3 years.
If you have shoulder pain, have you tried strengthening exercises?
We often believe that rest is beneficial when we are in pain. Even if it can be in the first days, afterwards it will be preferable to move the affected limb and even to strengthen it.
For most shoulder conditions, exercises have been proven effective in decreasing your pain and getting you back to your daily activities.
Following the evaluation of your condition, your physiotherapist will be able to advise you on specific exercises. Exercises will be chosen based on the severity of your pain, the nature of your shoulder condition, and your goals.
