Golfer specific chiropractic care

Chiropractic and golf, a perfect marriage!

Being a big fan of sports, Dr. Bilodeau wants to help any athlete to perform optimally. As well as being a golfer from a very young age, he decided to specialize, among other things, in the analysis of the physical abilities of the golfer as well as in the analysis of the golf swing. With Titleist Performance Institute (TPI Medical Level 1) training, he is able to properly identify mobility issues, flexibility or stability of golfers and thus address them during treatments to promote an optimal and painless golf experience. Chiropractic cares specifically to golfers thus promotes painless swings and improved performance on the course.

The TPI Philosophy

Each golfer has their own physical characteristics. Therefore, it is important to understand that any golfer, regardless of his caliber, must practice his sport according to his own physical abilities. Obviously, most physical abilities (flexibility, power, stability, etc.) are aspects that can be worked on through specific support from health professionals certified by the Titleist Performance Institute. Furthermore, an in-depth analysis of the biomechanics of the player as well as an analysis of the swing with video will lead to a personalized care protocol that will target the golfer’s biomechanical defects We will call this analysis process the “Body-Swing Connection”.

Golfer’s Clinical Pathway

At ABC Health Clinic, our state-of-the-art clinic allows us to use digital radiography to objectively assess our patients through the concrete analysis of the postural characteristics of each patient. This method of analysis allows us to concretely see the postural characteristics of each patient. Since posture is an essential element in the golfer’s biomechanics, each X-ray of patients wishing to benefit from chiropractic care, specifically golfers in this case, will be carefully analyzed in the clinic before undertaking the first treatments. This is a very important step for establishing the correct diagnosis, which will guide subsequent treatments.

Thereafter, the TPI physical assessment will be performed in the clinic. This analysis, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, aims to easily and objectively determine the physical shortcomings that are transposed into your swing Once the radiological and biomechanical analysis have been done, we will be able to corroborate everything with the video analysis of your momentum. At this stage of the process, it can be very beneficial to combine your treatments with a consultation of a golf professional (coach or licensed professionals) to work on the technical shortcomings of your swing.

Clinical Follow-ups

Once the diagnosis has been established and the right care protocol has been put in place (exercises specific to the golfer as needed and chiropractic treatments accordingly), our professionals will be able to follow your progress on a weekly basis directly at the clinic. Periodic reassessments (TPI physical exam and video reassessment if possible) will be scheduled based on your progress in order to objectify your perceived improvements. We will therefore be able to modify the treatment protocols and treatment frequencies according to the improvements of each golfer.
