Physiotherapy or kinesiology? ….
“What’s the difference between the two of them? »
“How do I know which one is best for me? »
These are the most common questions we get asked. Although the two professions overlap a lot in their practice, each has its strengths and limitations compared to the other. Depending on a person’s individual situation, they may benefit from one service rather than the other. However, in a rehab setting, most people often need both. This is why physiotherapists and kinesiologists have a very close working relationship in interdisciplinary clinics.
…Why not both?
ABC Health Clinic in Vaudreuil-Dorion is proud to launch a new program called “Physio-Kin” to allow our clients to benefit from the combined expertise of both services in a single appointment!
This will include the physiotherapist’s skills in manual therapy and orthopedic management, as well as the kinesiologist’s skills in identifying incorrect movement patterns and tailoring exercises to your needs.
How does it work?
An initial assessment with a physiotherapist will help us decide if this option is for you. You will likely benefit from this program if:
- you suffer from chronic pain and wish to be guided to manage your activities of daily living and improve your physical condition;
- you have an injury that requires physiotherapy treatment and regular exercise progression;
- you have a mobility restriction that is related to pain or prevents you from exercising properly;
- you have stopped moving or exercising for fear of injury.
We are committed to maximizing function, independence and quality of life for our clients. We understand that many musculoskeletal conditions can result in a hectic schedule of treatments with various healthcare professionals. This new program aims to relieve your schedule while benefiting from your treatments in an optimal way.
