Pregnancy is an extraordinary adventure that transforms both body and mind. However, it is also accompanied by certain discomforts. As a physiotherapist, my job is physically demanding. Fortunately, thanks to the support of our wonderful team, I was able to work almost to the end of my pregnancy. Here’s what helped me to live through this period more serenely.<\/p>\n

Osteopathy: a precious ally<\/h3>\n

Even before I became pregnant, I had started osteopathic treatment to prepare my body for the changes to come. This approach enabled me to adapt my pelvis and ribcage to the transformations of pregnancy. It also helped to alleviate certain unpleasant symptoms such as fatigue and gastric reflux.<\/p>\n

Chiropractic: an effective solution<\/h3>\n

Pregnancy is full of unexpected events… Like the day I fell down the stairs! Fortunately, my baby was fine, but the pain was still there. After a consultation, I discovered that my pubic symphysis was out of balance and my sacrum lacked mobility. Two chiropractic sessions were enough to relieve the pain and get me back on my feet.<\/p>\n

Massage therapy: relaxation and well-being<\/h3>\n

Hormonal and physical upheavals lead to muscular tension and stress. Massage therapy gave me immediate relief and a well-deserved moment of relaxation. A real remedy for coping better with this period of great change.<\/p>\n

Perineal and pelvic reeducation: a must<\/h3>\n

It is often said that the shoemaker is the worst off… But I took good care of my perineum! To compensate for the increased ligament laxity<\/a> during pregnancy, I strengthened my pelvic muscles. At the end of my pregnancy, I added stretching to improve my flexibility and make childbirth easier.<\/p>\n
