Their interventions are concrete, creative, without judgment and based on social justice.

Academics

Social workers possess a bachelors’s degree ou masters degree in social work. They are trained to understand situations lived by individuals, the functionning of society to make links between people and communities.

Practice regulations

In Québec, the title of social worker is exclusive to holders of a permit delivered by the OTSTCFQ.

The scope of practice of social workers, according to the law is :

« Évaluer le fonctionnement social, déterminer un plan d’intervention et en assurer la mise en œuvre ainsi que soutenir et rétablir le fonctionnement social de la personne en réciprocité avec son milieu dans le but de favoriser le développement optimal de l’être humain en interaction avec son environnement »
