How many times a day do we have the opportunity to appreciate the little pleasures and that we don’t do it?
And yet it is a matter of mental health to do so. We’re always trying to achieve more, we thought the pandemic would have taught us to slow down or set new priorities in the direction of our happiness and yet I still see a lot of people who are close to burnout, who don’t sleep well… Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that we are a society with one of the highest rates of anxiety and sleep problems!
A very powerful tool is to stop and feel our present moment or to be in touch with our senses. Develop sensuality which is the pleasure of the senses. It’s very close to us, and we all can.
I practice it at 5.30 every morning, even in winter, I go out on my balcony on the 2nd floor in a street in Montreal and nature offers itself to me. I can hear the birds, the sound of the leaves, breathe the fresh air and its touch on my skin, I am moved to see the trees change colors and when I enter our house I am more sensitive to the hugs offered by my spouse and I am more available to receive his compliments. AND IN THESE MOMENTS I CAN TELL MYSELF THAT HAPPINESS, IT’S RIGHT THERE!
